Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

I read this book at 14, not understanding much.  But I did know that words had power and could be used in ways that were entirely different than school writing.  Rereading now, I'm struck again by the beauty of the prose.  Incredible language.

Stephen as infant and then as young boy at school.  Shoved into slimy water, fantastic description of what it's like to have a fever.
